Who can enter?
Companies from any sector, of any size and any age can enter. Companies compete on a level playing field.

Do we have to be located in Hastings & Rother?
The Business Awards are for businesses located in Hastings and Rother only. Businesses located outside this area will not be considered. The Retailer of the Year Award is however open to local units of national or multinational businesses.

Is entry dependent on size and turnover of company?
Entries are welcomed from companies of any size. There is no restriction in terms of turnover or number of employees.

How do we submit our application?
Download an application form from the categories page and follow the instructions.

What criteria need to be met?
There are separate criteria for each of the categories and this appears on the entry form. However fundamental principals that apply to each award include ethics, success and innovation.

When is the deadline for applications?
Applications need to be submitted to the judging panel by Friday 8th February 2008. Short listed applicants will be notified w/c Monday 25th February and the Judges decision is final.

How long do we need to have been trading?
The duration of trading is not a critical factor to being eligible for an award, provided the application criteria are met. There is however a Best Start Up Award, which may be more appropriate for businesses that have started trading within the last 24 months.

Can we get feedback if we are unsuccessful?
Due to the number of entrants, feedback will not be available on an individual basis.

Why should we enter?
Entry in to the 1066 Business Awards will allow you both to examine your business in its current state and benchmark your performance against other local companies. With the support of the Observer Newspaper Group, there are significant PR opportunities for the finalists and winners.
